Electronic Hand Controls & Electronic Left Foot Accelerators

  1. Is VAS status light blinking when ignition is turned on?
    1. No – Check power and ground sources
    1. Yes – Got to 2
  2. Is status light blinking one long & one short (repeating)?
    • No – VAS is in the wrong program mode (see Changing the VAS Operation Mode below)
    • Yes – Go to 3
  3. Are all three cables plugged into the correct locations?
    • ACC1 – connects to the OEM pedal thru the adapter harness
    • ACC2 – connects to the ELFA or ELHC
    • ECU – connects to the original OEM pedal connector thru the adapter harness
    • PWR/IO – connects to ignition power, ground & switch
    • Yes to all the above – Go to 4
  4. Check that both adapter harnesses wire colors & pin locations match each other. This is easily checked by removing the adapter harnesses and plugging them into each other, so they form a circle. Do the wire colors match across each connector?
    • No – request a new adapter harness set
    • Yes – Go to 5
  5. Check that all connectors are fully seated and no pins are backed out of the connector housing.
  6. If everything above checks out – Text Kirk at 586-719-2092 with contact name, phone number, and brief description of problem.

Changing the VAS Operation Mode

The Veigeltronic Accelerator Switch (VAS) has multiple operational modes. The VAS is shipped in Mode 1 by default.

The mode is displayed by the status light on the front of the VAS box. The number of fast blinks after the long blink shows the mode number.

When in the correct mode, the status light on the VAS box will blink one long and one short – over and over (Mode 1).

If the status light shows anything other than Mode 1 it must be re-set.

Follow the instructions below:

  1. Turn vehicle ignition on – it is not necessary to start the engine
  2. Within 30 seconds of ignition on,  press and hold the control activation button (or turn and hold the control activation key) until the switch light starts blinking (approximately 10 seconds)
  3. Press the button (or turn the key)– this will advance the mode. Keep advancing the mode until Mode 1 is reached
  4. Re-start the vehicle to check if the OEM pedal is active

Press the button (or turn the key) 3 times – the control will now switch to the auxiliary
